SAY NO to low income housing in Holbrook!! (SPONSOR 11/04/09 5:18am)
http://www.serotaproperties.com/work_force.html
136 Acres are proposed to be developed here in Holbrook(Sunrise Highway & Vets Highway intersection) and made into a mini Tanger. Some of the area will be made into housing for the workers who normally would not be able to afford homes. This development will cause an amazing amount of traffic for Holbrook and increase in students in our schools.... (SPONSOR 11/04/09 5:18am) REPLY
If you are worried about affordable housing then it may just be time to vote Steve Levy out. After seeing him jump up and down on news 12 saying everyone should have have a right to live on Long Island you know he is behind this housing plan.I pay my $8g in taxes to be with a better class of people, so if housing is going to be built it should be upscale houses built by TAX PAYING workers, and not some day labor from horseblock rd..A mini mall may not be to bad with some high end stores like Coach,Polo, etc. (RobinS 11/18/09 7:44am) REPLY
With new housing and a mini Tanger, Holbrook may start to look like its 2010 instead of 1985.Driving down Portion Rd. I see that Lake Ronkonkoma ,Ronkonkoma,Farmingville all have improvements to the streets and store fronts, so its about time we see some improvement. And if its traffic that concerns you,ask yourself where is the stimulus money for our roads here in Holbrook.Forget the fake red brick look you see in on some roads and lets see a 3rd and 4th lane where it is needed. And if you are worried about people that cant afford Holbrook because of low income but will live here because of free housing, then call Steve Levy who jumped up and down on news 12 saying everyone should be able to live on L.I and tell him to let them live in his house if he feels so bad for them..Affordable housing when I was a kid was simple, my father couldnt afford L.I. so we didnt live on L.I.
